Chrome Extension Privacy Policy

Last updated: October 21, 2026

This policy covers the Hima focus extension for Chrome, a focus timer with box breathing, ambient sounds and reminders. It also applies when the extension is installed from the Chrome Web Store in another Chromium-based browser. In short: the extension collects no personal data, and nothing you do in it leaves your computer.

1. Who we are

The extension is provided by Artem Nikitin, an independent developer. For any privacy question, write to support@himafocus.com.

2. What stays in your browser

To work, the extension keeps a few things in your browser's local extension storage on your computer:

  • your settings: the session length, the sound, the volume, the chime and the theme;
  • the reminders you set up: their text, times and days of the week;
  • the state of the current timer, so it keeps running when the popup is closed;
  • interface details such as the last screen you saw and the size of the extension's own window.

This information is not sent to us or to anyone else. Removing the extension deletes it.

3. What the extension does not do

  • It has no account and no sign-in, and it does not ask for your name, email or any other personal details.
  • It does not connect to any server. Its sounds, fonts and code are all inside the package.
  • It requests no access to websites. It cannot read your tabs, your browsing history or the content of any page you visit.
  • It contains no analytics, no advertising and no tracking, and it does not load code from the internet.

4. Permissions and why they are needed

  • Storage: keeps the settings, reminders and timer state described above on your computer.
  • Alarms: ends the session on time and fires your reminders while the extension is otherwise asleep.
  • Notifications: shows the end-of-session notice and the reminders you switch on. Chrome displays them on your computer.
  • Offscreen document: plays the ambient sound, which a Chrome extension cannot do from its background script.
  • Side panel: lets you open the same timer in Chrome's side panel.

5. Links and the Chrome Web Store

The extension contains a link to himafocus.com. Following it is an ordinary visit to our website; the extension itself sends nothing there. Installing and updating the extension go through the Chrome Web Store, which Google runs under its own privacy policy. From the store we see only aggregate statistics, such as the number of installs, and nothing that identifies you.

6. Sharing and selling

Because the extension collects no user data, there is nothing for us to sell, share with third parties, or use for advertising, credit decisions or any purpose unrelated to the extension.

7. Your choices

You can change or delete any setting or reminder inside the extension, and removing the extension deletes everything it stored. We hold no data about you, so there is nothing for us to access, correct or erase on our side. If you have a question or a concern, email support@himafocus.com.

8. Children and changes

The extension is a general-purpose timer and is not directed at children. If a future version changes what it handles, we will update this policy and the date above before that version is released.
